Collection of 3 Case XX / No Dot Poor-Fair Cond 1950s-60s

We are offering the 3 knives in the photo as a lot. All 3 are in poor to fair condition, but have most of their part components. Each has most of its handle material intact. The 6347 Stockman is a no-dot Stainless USA, made between 1965 and 1970. It has one crack across the logo on its obverse panel, and extensive cracking on its reverse. The Clip blade is nubbed off, and the sheepfoot blade is broken. The other 3 blade is a 6344 Pen stockman, XX with no USA, made before 1965. This one has been sharpened so much that only 30 to 50 percent of the blades width remains, but their length is intact for the most part. And the most interesting, the star of this lot, is a small single-bolster XX Jack Knife with no USA manufactured before 1965. We do not know its pattern number, but its overall length closed is 3.2 inches. It has both its handles intact, with a ½ inch bolster crack on the back panel that does not go all the way through. Both blades have substantial width remaining, but are only about 70 to 80 percent of their original length. These are honest, un-tampered with knives that came from a local estate here is West Tennessee. Own all 3 for one total price            only $33.95

Case pre-5265 Stag Circle C 1940s Good Blem

The knife in the photo is the exact same knife that the winning buyer will receive. We sell knives like we get them, normally one at a time from collections; we are not Case Dealers, and we are a small specialty store. We are unclear as to the exact introduction date on this Circle C Case. At one point, about 40 years ago, we owned a rat-tail Circle C identical in pattern to this one. Note that the bolster rivet has been replaced, and more important, the reverse handle panel has been replaced by leather. There is one pecked and partially chipped area on the lower portion of the obverse panel about halfway between the two left panel rivets; and there is a crack in the obverse panel beneath the center rivet. We estimate that the main clip blade is about 80 percent intact, victim of flat sharpening; and the flesh blade is of similar proportions. The man who owned this knife, Mr. Van Crowe from Jacks Creek, Tennessee, has been deceased now for about 30 years. Mr. Crowe ran a barbecue pit at Jacks Creek from shortly after World War II until his death in the early 1970s. The pit is still operational under the expert proprietorship of Joe and Patty Joyner, Joyner’s Jacks Creek Pit Barbecue. Own this decent but well used Circle C Folding Hunter, predecessor to the 5265 pattern,                        for only            $ 89.95

The knife in the photo is the exact same knife that the winning buyer will receive. This is a really pretty Case 6254 Chrome Vanadium Trapper manufactured in 1978 and in near-mint condition. The only detraction is some toning. If this were a gun, we’d grade it at 99%. It has beautiful, uniformly dark and symmetrical handle panels. Picking/jigging is regular on both panels, and sparser on obverse panel than on the reverse. An excellent representative specimen of the second-largest Case Congress pattern, this piece has the long drag pull on all four blades. It has 5 xs and 3 dots, 2002 production. Handle panels are symmetrically picked, with two nice center ridges on each side tapering off into toned ivory-hued bone. Obverse panel light areas are somewhat lighter than reverse. Case Office Knife 1981 Tortoise Club Knife Mint

This Case #279 SS Office Knife comes from the second year of the lightning bolt SS logo, and is a specimen of the Club Knife, definitely a limited edition of no more than 500 units ever made, for the Golden Circle Knife Collectors’ Club in Jackson, Tennessee. It is unsharpened and never used, and the only possible wear indications are light scuffing to the tortoise shell handle panels, scuffing that would take better eyes than your ad editor’s to identify. Both Club logo markings are full strength gold stylized lettering. The 279 office knife has two blades, of course; a main spear pattern blade that measures 1 7/8 inches from heel to point, and a secondary pen blade 1 ½ inch long. Overall length closed is 3 inches. Case Red Bone Pocket Worn 2001 Med Stockman 6318SS Mint

This all-time favorite pattern of the Case Knife is the Medium Stockman, the 6318 SSP, with a main California Clip blade and secondary sheepfoot and spey pattern blades. This one has never been used or sharpened, and only has light contact scuffing on small areas of its blade from contact with the stainless liner from a moderate amount of opening and closing. Handle panels, as the photos show, are a nice reddish brown, symmetrically picked and colored with a three-ridge picking pattern. The 6318, of course, measures 3 ½ inches overall length closed with a main blade measurement of 2 ¾ inches. Logo is the 2000 decade Circle C with five X, four dot marking, dating this fine little knife to the first year of the Junior Bush era. Own it             for only $ 46.50

Case Tested Sky Rider Shoes Adv Knife 1940s

The chief detraction to this rare Circle C Advertising knife is that its spear pattern blade has been buffed at some point, but the Circle C Tested logo is nearly full strength. Blade width, as the photos show, is around 85 percent of original width. It is appropriate length, however, because the spear pattern blade measures 2 7/16 inches from heel to point in a 3 inch overall length closed knife. Clear cellulose yellow handle panels are Very Good if not Excellent, and both inscriptions, Sky Rider Shoes for Boys on obverse panel and Eilerman’s on reverse panel have full strength dark script original letterning. We detect only slight deterioration at the edges of the handle panels’ underlay base. This knife is mechanically sound, and closes with good strength on its own backspring power. Case Office Knife w/File XX Stainless No USA Mint 1960s

Markings on the tangs of both spear pattern and pen blade to this distinctive early Case Engraved Metal Handle Office Knife with file attachments read Case XX / Stainless. It is entirely original, unused and unsharpened, and is in mint or near-mint condition. Its only surface detractions are small light inconspicuous scuffing to the polished stainless blade surfaces from mere opening and closing, and dark toning to the never-used file attachment. Gold or brass-toned handle panel-liners have only a few inconspicuous dark toning marks to their edges, and the black and red color inlay is full strength and intact. Overall length closed is 3 inches; the main spear pattern blade measures 2 ¼ inches from heel to point, and the pen blade measures 1 ¾ inches. File measurement is 2 3/8 inches from heel to point. This rare knife is mechanically perfect with excellent strength to its backsprings. This is the only such specimen we have ever owned; we got it from the late Mr. James Pate who ran Jim’s Pawn Shop in Jacksonville, Arkansas, near Blytheville Air Force Base, over 20 years ago. Case Tested Bradford PA Rotary Club Pen Knife 1940s Good

Blemishes show in the photo, a center crack in the obverse imitation pearl handle panel, and two lesser cracks in the reverse, unmarked panel. Photos also show the rust residue from deterioration of the chromium along the top edges of both spear pattern and pen blades. There is also some rust indications at the handle panel edges on all four bolsters. Both blades appear to have been flat sharpened, since there is light horizontal scratching on the surfaces of them both. Those substantial detractions considered, this knife also has some strong commendations. First off, by way of potential, the obverse panel crack can be professionally mended. Second, both blades retain about 90 percent of their original thickness and width. The backsprings are still resilient. Brand logo on the main spear blade tang is fully legible if weak. And the ace consideration is its age and rarity, a commemoration Rotary Club knife from W.R. Case & Sons’s home town, Bradford, Pennsylvania. Overall length closed is 3 ¼ inches, and the spear pattern blade measures a full, appropriate 2 ½ inches from heel to point. Pen blade is also a correct measurement 1 ¾ inches. Its only possible wear indications are light scuffing to the attractively aged imitation ivory handle panels, scuffing that would take better eyes than your ad editor’s to identify. Obverse handle panel’s commemoration lettering is full strength blue and white, with a black outlined GOP elephant. Case 6254 SS Red Bone Trapper 2004 Silver Script Mint in Box

The knife in the photo is the exact same knife that the winning buyer will receive. We sell knives like we get them, normally one at a time from collections; we are not Case Dealers, and we are a small specialty store. This is an excellent specimen of one of Case’s all-time most popular patterns, the large Trapper. High-polished stainless blades are flawless and well matched at heel and backspring. Handle panels are symmetrical, but the Dark Red designation is misleading, as one can determine from the photographs. Both sides have ample but spaced picking troughs, medium relief, but the smoother end areas and edges are light, and give the panels a strong and very pretty pinkish hue. Obverse Circle C XX inlaid Silver Script logo flawlessly installed into the panel. This one is in its original box, end label marked as follows:

Case 6375 Large Stockman VG-Exc 1972 Bone

Larger than the substantial 6392 pattern, this 6375 Large Stockman is the heftiest regular production Case 3-blade during the peak, classic years of independent Case ownership of the Bradford manufacturing concern. This one has very dark brown bone handle panels, both of them excellent and fully intact, and its main clip pattern blade tang bears the Case XX U.S.A. logo with dots begun in 1970. This one has 8 dots, and dates from President Nixon’s reelection year, 1972. All blades have been sharpened on a sufficiently high bevel and are in Very Good if not Excellent Condition. Backspring to the main clip blade is somewhat weak, but this was common on the ones from the factory. Both sheepfoot pattern and spey pattern blades have full resilience from their backsprings. All three blades have at least some of their original chromium plating remaining, and dark spotty toning affects a substantial portion of their surfaces. All three blades have 95 percent or more of their original thickness and width. Overall length, of course, is 4 ¼ inches closed, and the main clip blade measures its appropriate full 3 ½ inches from heel to point. Own this fine Large Stockman for only $ 79.95

Case Electrician 1978 Delrin VG-Exc

The pattern number on the reverse tang of the hawk bill blade reads 62031 LHR, the hawkbill variant of the Case Electrician’s knife, all stainless, U.S.A. 2-dot marking from the Year 1978. Handle panel material is Delrin, and even though we have always disapproved of the Delrin handle panel materials, and even more of the fact that Camillus actually manufactured this knife under sub-contract with Case, it is a scarce variant and is in Very Good if not Excellent Condition. Its only surface detractions are dark toning to the backspring surfaces and lanyard, and moderate sharpening indications on both the hawk bill and screwdriver-stripper blades. Interestingly, the utility blade is not stainless, attest its gray patina. Overall length closed is 3 ½ inches, and the hawk bill blade measures an appropriate full 3 inches from heel to point. Case 4-Blade 64047P No Dot Red Bone 1960s Blem

If our poor memory is correct, the no dot USA patterns were produced from about 1965 until 1970. This very rare 64047P, the California Clip / Spey / Pen / Punch configuration variant of the 6347 type pattern, is in that date range, but its Blem, or blemish, is that the backspring is broken under the punch and pen blades. We would think that might be repaired for $20 - $25; and the reason we have not sent it off is time constraints, not reluctance toward supporting craftsmanship. Blades are Good to Very Good, with 80 to 85 percent of their original width and thickness remaining. The backspring on the main two blades is very strong and works well. Note too, that the handle panels are both completely intact, a nice even pocket worn dark brown, with rather intricate five-row 1960s picking.             This Case Medium Stockman has the Circle C logo marking on its main California Clip pattern blade embellished with a five-X, 3-dot insignia that dates it to the Year 2002. It is appropriate 3-row-picked Green Bone, cased in an attractive velvet foam filled tin with the John Deere Logo insignia. The box includes its factory flyer. This knife is in mint condition, unused and unsharpened. The 6318, of course, measures 3 ½ inches overall length closed with a main blade measurement of 2 ¾ inches. This specially adapted variant is traditional, farm-popular California Clip main blade with sheepfoot and spey/flesh blade; but it has the John Deer logo embedded in the obverse handle panel. More than a tribute to W.R. Case or James Frost or even John Deere himself, this is a tribute to American farm values. Own it for only $ 99.95

Case 8254 Genuine Pearl Trapper Mint 2006

This Case Trapper, pattern number 8254, has more style distinctiveness than just its genuine mother-of-pearl handle panels; its bolster configuration recalls the original Trapper pattern of the World War II era with its recessed Nickel Steel Bolsters. This 8254 has the new-millennium Circle C logo on its clip blade tang, with the pattern number on the extended spey/flesh pattern blade. Logo has the 4-X marking, dating this knife’s manufacture date to the Year 2006. It is in mint condition in its original velvet factory case with the box sleeve, but lacks its brochure insert. It has never been used or sharpened. The Trapper, of course, measures a full 4 inches closed with a main California Clip pattern blade augmented by an extended spey pattern or flesh blade, both of which measure 3 3/8 inches from heel to point. Own this rare beauty     for only      $ 189.95

Case 6.5354 Bone Stag Spoon & Fork Trapper 2004 Mint

Here is an exotic but actually traditional variant of the time-honored Case Trapper pattern, a 6.5354 Bone Stag handled Trapper with the main California Clip pattern blade in the center of three, flanked by a spoon on its reverse side and a fork on its obverse side. The fork is actually the insignia blade, with five-X and one-dot marking around the new-millennium Circle C logo, dating this highly distinctive Case to the Year 2004. The Trapper, of course, measures a full 4 inches closed with a main California Clip pattern blade augment by the fork, both of which measure 3 3/8 inches from heel to point. Since the spoon is happily exterior, it transgresses traditional length by a fraction of an inch. This Case comes with its original leather carrying case. It has never been sharpened or used, and its only possible contact indications are from opening and closing only. We’re offering it         for only $ 99.95

Case Muskrat SS Caribbean Blue Bone 2004 Mint w/ Orig Box

The knife in the photo is the exact same knife that the winning buyer will receive. We sell knives like we get them, normally one at a time from collections; we are not Case Dealers, and we are a small specialty store. An excellent variation of the popular Muskrat pattern, the grip panels make this one unusual with their light turquoise coloration. Slightly deeper coloration on the reverse panel, but medium picking is uniform on both panels with generous flat areas to give a pocket worn appearance. This one is Mint in its original box with papers and was manufactured on 08/03/04. Own this distinctive piece for only   $49.95.

Case 6347 Sp Pen Red Bone 1970 VG

This ten dot Medium Stockman has long been the best selling Case on the market. This pattern, however, the Clip – Spey – Pen, is quite uncommon, and amounts to only about five percent of the 6347 pattern sales by our poor memory. All three blades are used, but not abused; they all have at least 95 percent of their original width and thickness. The Main Clip blade has been sharpened on a medium bevel, as the photos show, and it has seen the most use and has the least amount of original chrome remaining. The spey and pen blades both have substantial amounts of chrome remaining. Handle panels are really pocket worn, but show no cracks and have a nice reddish tint with white bone showing prominently on the obverse panel. This is a good solid Case, excellent mechanically. We’re offering it           for only $ 49.95

Case 62033 Pen Knife 1979 Delrin One Dot Mint

None of us liked it when Case slipped around and began putting Delrin handle panels on a good many of their knives during the 1970s. That distaste was strong enough for this little 62033 square-bolster pen knife to lie up in mint condition during all this time. Overall length closed is only 2 ¾ inches, and the main California Clip blade only measures 2 ¼ inches. This is a quite scarce little knife in a desireable size. We apologize for the handle panel material, but that is all there was for this pattern during Jimmy Carter’s penultimate year in office. Own it       for only             $ 31.95

Case 6292 Texas Jack 1975 VG Bone

This two-blade variant of Case’s second largest square jaw pattern most often seen in the 6392 Large Stockman, has an overall length closed of 4 inches, with a clip blade length of 3 ¼ inches from heel to point. Tang is marked with the traditional Case XX / U.S.A. and has five dots, 1975 date. Both blades have been sharpened on a low bevel and has some edge wear, but we estimate that 90 to 95 percent of the thickness and width of the blade is intact. Both blades have significant amounts of chromium left. Handle panels, as the photos show, are a nice solid chocolate brown bone. This is a moderately used, quite rare knife. By our poor memory, the 6392 to 6292 sales ratio was something like 20 to 1. Own this nice Texas Jack            for only             $ 46.95

Case 11031-Sh Rope Knife VG Cond Mfg. ca. 1976

The knife in the photo is the exact same knife that the winning buyer will receive. We sell knives like we get them, normally one at a time from collections; we are not Case Dealers, and we are a small specialty store. This rope knife has been used but not abused. The pattern, of course is 11031-Sh, sheep-foot blade. Handles are very dark, oil stained walnut. We can make out 2 dots on the tang, but they are on the right side. So this knife was probably made either before 1970, if the dots deceive us, or – more likely – 1975. Blade has been bevel sharpened repeatedly, but retains about 95 percent of its original width. We classify this Case Rope Knife as Very Good, but have included sufficient photography for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. There are no detractions like cracked handle panels. It is Excellent mechanically; it has been kept oiled, and the backspring is strong. Own it        for only $36.95

Case Electrician Knife 12031L No Dot Mint ca 1968

The knife in the photo is the exact same knife that the winning buyer will receive. We sell knives like we get them, normally one at a time from collections; we are not Case Dealers, and we are a small specialty store. The likely reason that this knife survived in mint condition is that Case only shipped them in multiples of 6, and this one sat for years, most likely in our uncle’s store, until some time in the late 1970s. This Case 12031L Electrician’s Knife is USA marked, but no dots, locating its manufacture date some time between 1965 and 1969. Its only detractions are a few very tiny toning spots, and one moderate toning spot on the back center of the spear blade. It has moderate scuffing on the bolsters, and a couple of very small pecks on the handle panels that are not conspicuous. The knife has never touched a whetrock. We’re offering this scarce old mint Case Electrician’s Knife                        for only $ 64.95

This genuine red-bone 6254SS Trapper has flawlessly constructed blades and hardware, well fitted and smooth functioning, with beautiful, symmetrical Chestnut Bone Handles. Its 2000 production year classifies it as a Millennium Knife. Handle panels are regularly picked and have only a slight hint of light coloration between brass retainer rivets and bolsters.
