This page contains our Taurus and Rossi listings.

Got wood? Don’t discard any decent wood grips for Tauruses and Rossis. Send them to us! We’ll trade something or try to buy them.

Most of our firearms are listed on

Guns America         with a few on           Auction Arms

and a few more on Gun Broker. Our most comprehensive listings, and most of our new arrivals, are on Guns America. You don't have to join to view our listings, but it's easy to enroll.

We are interested in buying or trading for Excellent Condition Taurus Handguns, preferably bright blue or nickel with wood grips, preferably revolvers. We are not interested in plastic Taurus automatics except for low-ball pawn rates, $100 or so on 24/7s and so forth. We are also interested in wood grips for Taurus Revolvers. For those kind enough to offer to sell or trade to us, please bear in mind that it costs us about $50 to book a firearm, clean it, write it up, photograph it, and publish it on the internet.

Format is our stock number & heading – then photos – then description and price on each item. Serial numbers are deliberately smudged.

Note that we only charge $15.00 Shipping for handguns to the lower 47 States, $20 to AK, CA  & HI. Add-ons in same order only $7.50 per handgun, insured, USPS Priority Mail.

Discount schedule: 2% discount for payment with USPS Money Orders. This discount does not necessarily apply to items purchased through third parties, such as Guns America, Auction Arms, or Gun Broker.

This is the new, very attractive Taurus 850 CIA Ultra Lite Stainless in its Centennial Type configuration. One difference between this one and its Smith & Wesson progenitor is that the Taurus weights about 10 percent more. This one tips the scales at 16.8 ounces empty, and the Smith & Wesson holds it down to 15 ounces. Note the Taurus boot grip with factory logo, and the attractively positioned lock at the back of the frame. Own this fine Taurus, the one in the photo or one of its identical mates,            for only                       $ 329.95

Taurus 9mm 18 Shot PT909SS Metal Frame NIB

Taurus has excelled for decades with us and our customers for quality, reliability, value, and innovation. From their early days of US marketing by selling S&W Revolver copies, they have blossomed into close clones to Berettas, then Colt 1911s, and now Sig influence with this 909 Stainless Metal Frame 9mm. This pistol is traditional, admirable in our opinion, in its all metal construction: bright polished aluminum alloy frame and stainless steel upper. It outstrips its Beretta and Sig peers by having a frame mounted ambidextrous decocker/safety setup. Its rail configuration frame allow laser or light attachments for those who like such contraptions, the crucial combat aid are the three-dot modified Novak style sights. Barrel length is 4 inches; weight empty is 30.75 ounces; and capacity is 17 + 1. This model is now discontinued, a transitional variant between the 809 and the 917. Replacement price on either of those in our area is in the $500 vicinity, often more than that. Own one of these brand new Taurus 909SS’s, complete with Taurus internal lock, two keys, and total of two high capacity magazines     for only           $ 419.95            Not for Sale to California Destinations. New! 2-Tone Variants, same low price!

Here is an ideal revolver for our neck of the woods here in West Tennessee. Depending on the skills of the operator, this little .17 Hornady Magnum Taurus is capable of taking down small and medium sized varmints in the 100 yard range. This is the model 17CSS. Caliber is, of course, full size .17 Hornady Magnum. This revolver is an optimal 5 inch full-lug barrel length with Red Ramp / White Outline adjustable sights. It consists of 26 ounces of matte stainless steel, complete with Taurus sure grip rubber combat finger-grooved grips. Hammer and trigger are a nice bright metal-injection molded satin stainless, like the traditional Smith & Wesson 651s and 63s. Photo shows one of some half dozen specimens of this fine revolver that we were able to buy on a closeout liquidation. All these are brand new in their original boxes with all their papers and two keys for their internal locks. Buyer will receive one of this particular AP-prefix serialized revolvers that we believe were manufactured in late 2006. Factory item number is 2-1700059. Shoppers never fear, we will ship an unopened specimen, and we do not allow our display firearms to be snapped, spun, or slammed in the rare instance that a gun illiterate handles one in our store, that is one of the positive features of Taurus’s inconspicuous hammer locking devices. Own one of these fine Tauruses         for only

This lock variant Taurus Model 82 is the descendant, of course, of the Smith & Wesson Heavy Barrel Model 10. Actually, this is an improved configuration on most folks’s view, because it is a heavy barrel, heavy frame, more an L frame copy than a K frame copy. If the ancestor company, Smith & Wesson, made a prototype to this one, it would be a 580, a .38 Special variant of the rare and popular 581 Smith & Wesson. 36.5 ounces is not that much carry weight. Many of our uninitiated customers have the erroneous notion that a small handgun doesn’t kick, and a big one does. Nothing could be farther from the truth. This is the best introductory level handgun a person can own, and you won’t beat it with even the most sophisticated automatic for day in and day out use. Barrel length is 4 inches full lug, 6 shot cylinder capacity. Finish is a rich even bright blue, with color casehardened trigger and hammer. Grip frame is a true square butt. This is recent production internal lock variant, with the patented Taurus lock on the back of the hammer and two keys. This revolver has its original box and all its papers.

Note that this revolver is marked factory reconditioned. It has an X suffix added to its serial number. We notice a small white scuff on the right side of the muzzle area and two of three very tiny streaks on the upper front right edge of the frame next to the barrel. There is light rotation marking on the cylinder surface, but that is not conspicuous. Cylinder front blacking from test firing is minimal, and there is no cutting whatsoever to the under side of the top strap directly above the forcing cone. This revolver is a strong 95 percent plus in our estimation. Own this fine revolver                for only                                   $ 289.95

Rossi Revolvers have given us and our customers excellent service for the past fifty some odd years, and this specimen holds to that tradition. This is a later Reagan era variant of the Rossi 68, the M685, a derivative of the Smith & Wesson Chief’s Special. This one is in excellent mechanical condition, with all five cylinders time well. There is negligible lateral play with the cylinder closed, especially with the trigger pulled all the way. Finish has normal pocket contact wear, and we rate the finish as Very Good. Photos should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. Here is something that we always wanted Smith & Wesson to make, and they never made anything like it until the 351PD made its debut at the 2004 SHOT Show. This is the descendant of the .22 WMR Kit Gun, only in an improved configuration with Red Ramp / White Outline Adjustable Sights, 2 inch one piece steel barrel. Capacity is 8 shots of .22 Magnum only, and the lightweight alloy frame has a coated finish on the order of the current Smith & Wesson Lightweights. Weight empty is only 18 ounces, just a shade above that of the Smith & Wesson Airweight Chief’s Specials. Note the factory Taurus Boot Grip with logo, and the attractive traditional satin nickel hammer and trigger. For defensive purposes, the 2006 FBI report recommended penetration for effectiveness, and this little Taurus 941 will achieve that better than all other comers with exception of the 351 PD, a fine weapon that is far removed from classic Smith & Wesson finishes. This Brazilian Bombshell has the looks, the weight, and the power. Photo shows a specimen we had in stock from a distributor liquidation where we were able to acquire only a couple of these. While we don’t deal all that many new guns, we jumped on a couple of these excellent little Rossi .38 Specials, not just because they are a great value, but because of the way they’re made. We’re not just talking about the high quality we’ve always experienced with Rossi products. This is most likely as near as any of us will come to owning a Colt Diamondback, the Rossi Model 851 .38 Special 4 inch Blue Full Lug Vent Rib Barrel revolver. We have the one in the photo and three of its mates at press time, July 2008. They are all brand new in the box, and we are the first to open them since they were manufactured. One good feature of their internal locks is that we lock our display specimens and don’t allow those manifestations of ignorance – snapping, spinning, and slamming – from gun-illiterate shoppers who occasionally wander in to our store. Factory specs are as follows:

Taurus quality really needs no explanation for most visitors to our Taurus listings. This is one of a half dozen or so brand new Taurus model 94 Revolvers we were able to buy on a closeout liquidation, and they are all brand new in their original boxes. The 2 inch, 9-shot Model 94 in the photo has been opened for the first time since it left the factory, and none of its identical sisters have been unwrapped. The one in the photo is on display in our showroom, but we use its internal lock to prevent those infrequent displays of ignorance, snapping, spinning, and slamming, that a rare, occasional gun-illiterate shopper might want to exhibit. The others are factory sealed in their original boxes, in the wrapper with all their papers and both keys to their internal locks. Factory specs are as follows: .22 S-L-LR caliber with 9 shot capacity; Double or Single Action firing modes; 2 inch barrel; overall length 6.375 in; weight 24 oz.; small frame, S&W J/M Size; bright blue finish; rubber grips; adjustable sights. Factory code is 2-940021, and the serial numbers are in the BP prefix range. According to the 2006 FBI Report on bullet performance, the .22 caliber is one of the most effective defense handguns. Penetrating power is optimal for defensive handguns; if a person wants stopping power, that will only be found in shotguns and rifles. Own one of these fine revolvers                        for only           $ 319.95

Here is a rare and effective little revolver, the now-discontinued Taurus model 17-IB in the short .17 Mach II caliber. Since ammunition is widely available at closeout prices, this one is also an exceptional value. It is in Excellent Condition with some carbon residue and cylinder rotation marking, and it is in its original factory labeled box marked Factory Reconditioned. It is stainless steel, 9 shot with 2 inch barrel and pocket or concealed hammer with internal lock and two keys. Weight empty is 23.5 ounces, all steel, with the combat grip installed as shown in the photos. The revolver also comes with a Taurus factory boot grip. It has been fired, attest the carbon on the cylinder face and on the under side of the frame topstrap directly above the forcing cone, but that only at the Miami plant so far as we know. There is no cutting evidence above the forcing cone. For those obsessed with the false myth of handgun stopping power, study the 2006 FBI report on bullet effectiveness. Penetration makes for an effective handgun property, and this one takes the cake.  Own this fine little handgun          for only                       $ 289.95

For those who subscribe to the mythology of stopping power in a manageable size handgun, here is about as close as a person will come. This is the Taurus Tracker model, a 5-shot big bore on a frame not much bigger than a Smith & Wesson K frame. Even though we deal very few new guns, we jumped at the chance to have a couple of these .44 Magnum snubs in stock. As far as actual selling, our standard line on this one is the old defense adage, better him than me; here, it will hurt him worse than it will me, a consoling thought for this small, light .44 Magnum. Our copy editor carries a .44 Charter, a similar revolver, and vows it is like catching a fastball barehanded when a person shoots it. Apart from our efforts at describing recoil, which we hope does not unsell this revolver, it is steel frame, that’s a good thing; and it weighs 31 ounces empty. Barrel length is 2.5 inches, full lug and all steel. Grips are the best designed we’ve seen for high-recoil handguns, the Taurus ribbed rubber round butt grip. Front sight is High Visibility fiber optic, and hammer, trigger, and thub latch are the super-hard and very traditional and attractive satin stainless. It is double or single action capable, and comes outfitted with a very inconspicuous internal hammer-mounted lock and two keys. It is brand new in its original box with all its papers, and speaking of locks, we keep all our new handguns locked to prevent the rare occasion where gun-illiterates come in and want to snap, spin, and slam. We simply do not allow that in our store. Own the revolver in the photos or one of its identical mates                     for only                       $ 469.95

Box on this Taurus Bright Blue 6-Shot .357 Magnum with Standard 4 inch barrel is marked Factory Reconditioned. The only surface detraction to this early Taurus model 66 is some vise grip damage to the heretofore knurled end of the ejector rod. We are confident that whichever fool wielded the vise grips at Taurus International has long been fired. As for the very light rotation marking on the cylinder, all Tauruses are test fired at the factory, so brand new ones would be similar. Blast effect to the under side of the frame topstrap directly above the forcing cone is negligible from test firing. This Taurus is thoroughly traditional: square butt grip frame, casehardened hammer and trigger with no internal lock, and the star of the show, 1990s Goncalo Alves Target Grips. Serial number is LG6548xx, and has an X suffix, indicating in-house modification in Miami. This revolver is, of course, as close a clone to the Smith & Wesson 19-5 or 19-6 as a person will find. Own it      for only                       $ 369.95.

Serial number on this bright blue 3 inch Rossi model 68 revolver is D6986xx. Since it is in the classic 3 inch configuration and is an Interarms import, we estimate it was manufactured some time in the late 1980s. It is in Excellent Condition by our estimate. Other than very slight contact wear on the lateral edges of the muzzle, we detect no conspicuous surface detractions. Blast effect to the underside of the frame topstrap directly above the forcing cone is negligible. That fact, along with very light cylinder rotation marking and negligible carbon blacking to the cylinder face, makes us doubt this revolver has been fired more than 50 times, if that many. Bore and cylinder chambers are excellent. Lateral wobble is negligible on this revolver, better than most specimens of its parent Smith & Wesson.             Serial number on this Taurus Model 94 Stainless 9 Shot Revolver is MG520xx. From its configuration, Post-Interarms but pre-lock, we estimate it was manufactured in the mid 1990s. It is in Excellent Condition. Its only surface detractions are some strap wear or contact principally on the side plate, right grip panel, and right side edge of the trigger guard. We estimate that the minor scuffs and pecks affect about 5 percent of the surface area. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the forcing cone is minimal, a light black line that traverses about 60 percent of the frame width. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, and the hammer travels about 20 degrees after the cylinder times into place on double action. On single action, the hammer travels a full 40 degrees or so after the cylinder times, and the single action trigger pull is a very crisp 3 1/16 pounds. We see no evidence whatsoever of pinging on the rear cylinder face. This revolver has been well maintained and has not been dry fired. With its satin stainless hammer and trigger, standard barrel, and Goncalo Alves stocks, this is a thoroughly traditional clone of the classic Smith & Wesson 1977 Kit Gun. We’re offering it          for only                       $ 379.95

From the top of its highly distinctive front sight to the back corner of its dark Brazilian Goncalo grips, this little Taurus Model 74 is an outstanding and seldom-seen tribute to the Smith & Wesson .32 Hand Ejectors, few if any of which ever had adjustable sights. By our poor memory, there were typically fewer than 1 out of 100 Taurus revolvers shipped from International Distributors in the 1970s in .32 S&W Caliber, and this is one of them. Classic 70s rough-finished Taurus with rough-grooved cylinder flutes and bronze hued hammer and trigger. This one is in Very Good Condition, its detractions consisting of weathering and light contact indications to its surfaces. We rate it at 80 percent or so finishwise, but photos should enable interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. It is in Excellent Mechanical Condition. Blast effect to the under side of the frame topstrap is negligible, this revolver, serially numbered 7096xx, was around long before the .32 H&R Magnum came on the scene. Wobble effect, or lateral movement of the cylinder is moderate, no more than 1mm either with the trigger pulled or with it relaxed. Double action trigger pull is quite heavy, 20 pounds or so, but that was typical for the rough made Tauruses of the Nixon, Ford, and Carter Years. Cylinder times into position well with plenty of hammer movement after timing both on Single and Double action. Single action pull is quite stiff, too; 7 pounds. There will be no unintentional firing with this revolver! Nevertheless, this is a scarce, classic little Taurus, one that we consider eminently collectable and serviceable to boot. We’re offering it             for only                       $ 289.95

Here is a great liggle takeoff on the Beretta model 21, the Taurus PT-25 Pistol chambered to hold 9 rounds of .25 ACP ammunition. It is full time double action, yet it has a positive lock side safety. For added security, this Taurus is equipped with a Magazine Safety, meaning that it cannot be fired even with a live round in the barrel and the main safety off, not until the magazine is re-inserted. An added safety feature is the Beretta type tip-up barrel that allows easy loading and unloading without racking the slide, something many of our fellow boomers are no longer able to do with the onset of Arthur – itis, that is. Add the internal lock on the backstrap, and this little auto pistol even out-safeties traditional Smith & Wesson, Browning, and Bersa Autos for safety mechanisms, a total of four. Add the light weight, 13.5 ounces empty, and a person has one of the best small autos you can buy. With the 1980s styling lines and imitation black pearl grips, it’s a very attractive pistol as well. We were able to acquire a half dozen of these through a distributor liquidation. They are $50 less expensive, and, we argue, better designed than their Beretta progenitors. Certainly better looking.

Sales policy: We accept Mastercard or Visa on a phone- or fax-in basis; and USPS Money Orders for immediate shipment. Personal checks, company checks, and in some instances Cashier’s Checks may involve a delay of no more than 8 business days for clearance. We offer a 7 day return privilege, lay-aways and NIB guns excluded. We offer 90 day lay-away with 20 percent down, balance in 90 days, but will levy a 6% per month service charge on the unpaid balance if the lay-away runs past 90 days. We accept trade-ins at agreed-upon prices, delivered to us. We cannot be responsible for the freight on returns unless we have made some sort of glaring mistake.

Walk-in customers from Tennessee may buy firearms of any type we have. Tennessee Sales Tax is 9 ¾%, and there is a $10 TBI Tennessee Instant Check Fee on all firearms purchases. Customers from many other states may buy long guns, but that depends on your state's laws. Buyers from Connecticut, Florida, Texas, or California, for example, cannot walk in to our store and buy a firearm; buyers from Indiana, Montana, or Oklahama, for example, can. They are subject to the same sales tax and TICS fees as Tennessee Residents.

Shipping rates and information: We must have a signed copy of the purchaser’s Federal Firearms License in order to ship firearms interstate, and that licensee must check out with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as a current, bona fide licensee. Legible faxed and scanned copies are permissible. Individuals commonly use Licensees to act as transfer agents. We always include a gun lock and a copy of the Federal Youth Firearms Safety Act brochure with handguns, shipped or over-the-counter; and we always furnish a copy of our FFL to the receiving dealer.

First handgun is $15.00, $7.50 each for add-ons, insured, USPS Priority Mail. $20 for First Hand Gun to Alaska, California, or Hawaii. California approved gun lock is included at this rate.

First long gun is $25.00, $10.00 each for add-ons in one order. Insurance is included. $35 for First Long Gun to Alaska, California, or Hawaii.

Interstate Shipments of Firearms can go to Federally Licensed Dealers Only. Anyone who undertakes to purchase a firearm must first of all be eligible to own one under State and Federal Law. Disabilities from owning firearms include being under 21 for a handgun (or pistol grip rifle or shotgun) or under 18 for a long gun; conviction, indictment or information of a misdemeanor domestic violence or felony (it does not matter if the person served jail time or not, the conviction or information suffices); adjudication of a nervous disorder or disability; and non-citizenship in the United States. If anyone who is not eligible to own a firearm attempts to purchase one from us, we will assist law enforcement in that person’s prosecution. If anyone attempts to aid and abet the acquisition of a firearm from us for an ineligible person, we will assist in all involved parties’ prosecution. We have no intention of violating any laws. That is why we cannot ship some firearms and/or magazines to jurisdictions that include California, Maryland, New Jersey, and the New York City vicinity.

One of the most common and persistent violations of Federal Law is the straw purchase. Never attempt to buy a gun for someone else under any circumstances. Even spouses buying for each other is tricky. We will not accept third party payment for firearms purchases. If you want to buy someone a present, buy something besides a firearm.

If an unlicensed individual wishes to purchase a firearm that we have advertised on a mail order, interstate basis, he or she must do so legally through an FFL, a federally licensed dealer. Dealers normally charge transfer fees. In our experience, the most readily available transferors are Pawnbrokers and Gunsmiths. Please have transfer logistics worked out before contacting us for a purchase. Thanks for your interest. Law Enforcement officers may purchase a firearm through their department only if it will be used on duty, and Department Letters and paperwork from the Chief Law Enforcement Officer in the jurisdiction are required.
