Thanks for looking over our stock on Shooting and Hunting Accessories. This is a catch-all page, but it has lots of good items on it.

Most of our firearms and one-of-a-kind items are listed on

Guns America         with a few on           Auction Arms

and a few more on Gun Broker. Our most comprehensive listings, and most of our new arrivals, are on Guns America. You don't have to join to view our listings, but it's easy to enroll.

For those who are kind enough to consider selling us your guns or accessories, please bear in mind that it costs us about $50 to process a firearm, from the time it comes across our counter until it’s booked, reported to the Sheriff’s Department, cleaned, written up, photographed, priced and on our shelves and out there on the internet. It’s almost as bad on smaller items, so there are limits to what we can pay. Teach your children to clean their guns!

Parts: S&W Rear Sight Blade for Revolver Flat Black Mint

image006

Here are a couple of our parts left over from the 1970s and 1980s, flat black rear sight blades for Smith & Wesson Revolvers. These show only light contact indications, probably when they were removed from the sight body and replaced with the more popular White Outline rear blade sometime in past years. Own one                    for only     $ 8.95              or buy the pair for only   $16.50.

Here is a very nice piece we inherited when one of our customers replaced his original factory bobbed hammer and strut, this one, with a spur hammer. This assembly is in Excellent Condition and has seen very little use. Own it complete                     for only           $ 49.95

Parts: Taurus Tang Peep Sight for 63 Winchester Copy

The tang on the Taurus copy is actually twice as long as the original Winchester 63’s, so this part will not fit the original without some drilling of the buttstock itself. It will, however, readily attach to the Taurus 63, a great solid little auto, and yield great enhancement of the Taurus rifle in terms of function and nostalgic flavor. These are brand new, blue steel with screws. All a person needs is a Taurus 63 and a screwdriver, and we can supply the 63. Own one of these fine sights              for only           $ 24.95

We are good buyers for nice used Leupold Scopes, also Burrises. Here’s a brand new Burris we bought from a distributor because it was on sale. It is sealed in its original factory box and wrapper. We have not opened it, nor will we: the buyer will be the only one to have that privilege and distinction. Photos shows the actual scope and box, the only one we have. Factory writeup is as follows:

Many serious hunters have embraced the short magnum concept - a full magnum performance cartridge teamed with a lighter, more compact, short action rifle. The obvious extension of this practical combination is a riflescope designed in harmony with the concept of short, stout and powerful. The Burris Short Mag riflescopes feature top grade optical glass and index-matched HiLume lens multicoatings for exceptional brightness, clarity and resolution in all lighting conditions. A unique, state-of-the-art lens system formulation combines edge-to-edge clarity with a reassuring 3.5" - 5" of light rifle magnum eye relief. The Short Mag series delivers outstanding optical performance in a concise, lightweight package ideally suited to mount low on short action rifles in order to keep the balance and feel of short magnums as handy as their designers intended. And Short Mags keep the scope away from your eye no matter what hard kicking load you use, no matter what uphill or prone contorted shooting posture you need to make your trophy connection. -4X -20mm Objective Diameter -Reticle: Plex -Finish: Black Matte -Field of view @ 100 yards: 24 ft. -Exit Pupil: 5.6mm -Click Adj. Mauser Leather Double Mag Rifle Pouch Excellent ca. 1950s

image071image073

We Southerners have little occasion to accuse other regions of innate violence, but the militarization of the Balkans is several centuries older than our tendencies in that direction. This is a genuine leather, Yugoslavian-Communist issue, double ammunition pouch for the Model 44 Mauser in 8mm, 8x57 caliber. The cover flaps attach to a heavy brass stud on the bottom of each side of the pouch.  These will, of course, hold a variety of cartridges and are of sufficient age – 1950s production by our estimate – to match well with vintage World War II Mausers like the Waffenamt-proofed 98Ks that we occasionally run across. We have a pair of these, the one in the photo and a basically identical mate.  Own it for only                   $11.95

Leupold Matte Medium Extension Rear Rings Excellent

image050

This excellent set of matte steel genuine Leupold 1 Inch Extension Rear Rings was mounted once, and once only, on a Remington 700 BDL .270. They are the newer variety that use the Torx screws and wrenches for installation, and we rate them finishwise as Excellent, 90 percent or better. Insertion scuffing to the rear dovetail is only moderate, so they will work very well and mate well with any Redfield Type bases. Replacement price on these is upwards of $40 in our area; we’re offering this fine set, however, for only           $ 19.95

Walther P-38 West German Cleaning Kit Exc & Complete

This kit is distinctive because it has the cotton wick swab material included. This cleaning kit hit port in the United States with its parent West German P-38 police issue pistol a couple of years ago. The pistol it came with was dated in the late 1950s, a veteran of the Cold War. This was standard issue for the West German military’s small arms. It even works well with rifles .30 caliber or larger. Own it complete for only        $ 11.50

DSC03116

We do not mean any disrespect to our worthy adversaries in China, but their products have definitely reached a marketing saturation point, and the prices are falling accordingly. On trade ins, we never allow more than $25 for a Chinese Riflescope, and it has to be something outstanding to fetch that. Scopes made in the Philippines, Korea, and especially Japan are a very different story. Filipinos and Koreans now have decades of technical expertise and actual manufacturing practice for producing excellent quality optics, and this is a specimen of the formers’ handicraft. This is a Simmons model ATV4514 Variable Power riflescope with Adjustable Objective front lens. It is in Excellent condition with only minor gun case contact wear on its eyepiece bell and on the objective lens adjustment ring. It is lightly marked on its tube from the aluminum weaver type rings it came with. We consider it to be Excellent finishwise, with at least 90 percent of its original finish remaining. Both lenses have their full coating intact, and the scope is excellent mechanically. It came to us mounted on a .204 rifle, so it has not undergone any recoil. This scope appears to be very similar to Simmons’s AETEC scopes, 4.5 x 14 Variable with 44mm Adjustable Objective front lens. Replacement price on this scope in our area is well over $200; but we’re offering this one    for only     $ 79.95

This scope has never been to China, unlike the flood of cheap optics we are now awash with. It is 100% Japanese, a Tasco Water Proof Super Con #667V, manufactured some time in the 1970s. Optics are clear and sharp, the purplish coated lenses are intact and clear, and it has the very attractive and nostalgic round-beveled eyepiece collar. Just as important, it is TV view with 4-plex type crosshairs. Finishwise, it is Very Good if not Excellent, with only a mild amount of white showing mostly around the eyepiece collar and bell. The gold-inked Super Con marking is weak, but the Water Proof Japan white ink is strong. This scope would be age appropriate for any 1970s firearm from pre-lock Marlins to H&R or H&K .22 Magnum Autoloaders. Own this fine thirty-something Tasco for only            $ 49.95

Muzzleloader Flask Colt Navy Type Mint

Overall body length is 6 inches, and the spouts appear to be about 30 grain chargers. Neither of these have ever been loaded or used, and they were still in their paper packing when we got them. Larger competitors that we have checked stock with are out of stock. Overall body length is 6 inches, and these will hold close to a half pound of powder each.             This flask came to us from a collection liquidation by one of our favorite Floridians. Manufactured by Pedersoli of Italy, this is the Colt Type Baby Eagle flask that throws a small charge, 10-15 grains by our estimate. It comes with its original paper wrapper and certificate, and has never been used or loaded. Larger competitors that we have checked stock with are out of stock. Overall body length is only 3 inches, and the entire flask will hold perhaps 200 grains. Own this fine little flask, new unfired,    for only           $ 24.95

Back in the 1980s and 1990s, we sold 100 or so Investarm Hawken Rifles and Carbines every year for several years. This lot consists of sets of 3 new but old stock white steel extra nipples to fit Investarms and other similarly threaded, 6 x 1mm thread size to fit #11 Percussion Caps. Even though these are new, they are about 20 years old and some have some light rust residue on them. They also fit the Lyman Hawkens and Plains Rifles. This is a common nipple size for many Spanish- and Italian-made percussion rifles. We’re offering these sets – and we bought them years ago in bulk from one of our best old suppliers in Mississippi, the late Mr. Dale McGee – of 3 new but old stock steel nipples, normally a retail value of well over $15.00,  for only     $5.95

They will hold 15 or so #10 or #11 percussion caps. Note the heavy cast construction. These are Pedersoli, very sturdy and substantial with 5 inches overall length and blue steel retaining clip spring. Do not confuse these with the cheap, flimsy old ones that CVA used to market. This set contains a hard blue steel wrench for the large size musket nipples, a brass nipple pick, and a brass nipple powder charger for the large size nipples. Note the tarnish on the nipple pick and starter faces. That is from being 2-3 years old, not from being used. All these are as good as new. Replacement price on these items in our area would total over $40.00; yet we’re offering them as a set of 4 implements for less than $5.00 apiece. We knew it was there, and we should have bought it back then when its owner offered it to us for $25.00. Back then, too, alas, we let many a set of Goncalo Target Stocks get away for $10.00. External dimensions on this box are 16 inches long by 8 inches wide by 3 inches high. We believe that it is one of the velvet-lined Smith & Wesson boxes with foam inserts and a lid for the cleaning kit. We could be wrong, though; it could have the cheaper 1970s velvet-covered plastic lining and cleaning kit indentations. Either way, we do not intend to open it. We are quite certain that it is for an 8 3/8 inch Model 29. Since one of its peers from this particular acquisition was datable to 1978, we think that this one should be near that date, perhaps a bit later. We will accept a return on this box, but there will be a 15 percent restocking fee if the plastic covering is gone. We knew it was there, and we should have bought it back then when its owner offered it to us for $25.00. Back then, too, alas, we let many a set of Goncalo Target Stocks get away for $10.00. It has its original cardboard sleeve, and the sleeve was never labeled. That might mean it was ordered as an accessory item, but that is highly unlikely give our knowledge of its owner since it was new. More likely, it was part of a larger carton, and the customer who bought the 29 only wanted the blue box and cleaning kit at the time. This box’s interior liner is velvet-lined plastic, and the revolver indentation shows faint indication that the revolver was indeed placed into the box, but there is no conspicuous wear whatsoever to the liner. The liner leads us to assign a late 1970s Manufacturing Date. Since one of its peers from this particular acquisition was datable to 1978, we think that this one should be near that date. Since one of its peers from this particular acquisition was datable to 1978, we think that this one should be near that date.                         Here is a Smith & Wesson Walnut Presentation Case that has been sitting on a shelf in a store in Mississippi for 30 years. We knew it was there, and we should have bought it back then when its owner offered it to us for $25.00. Back then, too, alas, we let many a set of Goncalo Target Stocks get away for $10.00. It has its original cardboard sleeve, and the sleeve is serially numbered with an N458xxx, dating its manufacture to 1978. This box’s interior liner is velvet-lined plastic, and the revolver indentation only moderate contact evidence, so the revolver was separated from its box early on. An 8 3/8 inch Model 29-2 came in this box, and we wish, of course, that it was still there. The waxed paper, entire cleaning kit including screwdriver, instruction manual, warranty card, ear damage warning flyer, and Smith & Wesson ammunition advertising brochure, are all with the box.
