Thanks for looking over our selection of fine gold and silver ladies’ jewelry. Most of our items are estate or personal jewelry, the majority of it manufactured in the 1980s, some of it well before that. We offer a 7 day return privilege on any item, so long as it is not altered. We guarantee gold content on our items. Most of them are acid tested.
We buy, or loan money, on jewelry chiefly for its gold content. And that is also the way we sell it. Many sellers in the jewelry business are hesitant to publish metal weight. The main reason for that is that there is a tremendous markup on jewelry much of the time, and if the customer knows the gold content, the cost and value are relatively easy to figure. We are always up front and open about our jewelry’s metal content. On diamonds, we publish weight by gauge, by our best estimate; and we call attention to detracting features of any of our diamonds. On this point, we believe we are exceptional among people who deal in jewelry.
Mystique
surrounding jewelry is very positive, since jewelry is so closely paired with
romance. This mystique, however, often translates into at least poor
mathematics if not gross ignorance. Value of gold content is not difficult to
calculate. There are 31.103 grams to a Troy Ounce, so a gram is .032
Note that if the Gold Spot Market
exceeds $760 per ounce, we reserve the right to re-negotiate pricing. If Gold
goes below $700 an ounce, we will still figure on a minimum $700 basis.

This very substantial Indian turquoise ring
is shank size 6, and we estimate its stone weight to be 20 Carats. It is .900 -
.925 range fine silver and the shank is strong and adequate. The ring has
extensive natural toning, and we left it that way. There is about a 10 degree
cant to the shank, but that made – and still makes – for more comfortable wear.

The size 4 ¾ mounting on this 10
Diamond, .20 Carat ladies ring shows only modest thinning on the bottom of its shank.
Note the very pretty inlaid cut Sea Wave motif on either side of the set. The
immediate stone setting itself has wave motif styling leading up to the 2-row,
10 diamond setting, bordered and tipped in white gold. Gross metric weight is
2.2 grams, and we consider this ring to be in excellent condition. Close
inspection shows only one sizing indication, and it was likely sized down from
a 6, the usual stock size. Most jewelry stores will call this a quarter carat

This Mothers ring is distinctive
in its set pattern, 3 diamonds each in 8 heart-shaped set components. We doubt
that the diamonds weigh more than .005 apiece, so the total diamond weight is
around .10 Carat, no more than that. Note the inlay of the word MOM, bordered
by hearts, on one of the sides. Shank shows only moderate wear, with adequate
thickness for wear, and the ring size is 6 ¾. It does not show evidence of

Even though
this young ladies ring is not the most flashy, it is of excellent quality and
in excellent condition. The 14 Karat Gold size 6 mounting is full thickness
throughout, marked Plumb Gold, and shows no evidence of any sizing or
alteration. The diamond is tiny, probably .005 Carat with moderate amber
coloration; but that is hardly the

The Western American styling of
this ring is tasteful and only amounts to a partial lariat motif with moderate
rope filigree. The rope design encircles a very modest solitaire diamond of no

10 Karat shank shows only slight wear in the 4 – 5 o’clock area, and may have

Baguette and Brilliant Retro Dinner Ring
Elements of some of the styling
on this distinctive ladies 1 Carat Diamond Dinner ring evoke the 1940s, but we
estimate it was actually manufactured in the early 1990s. It consists of dozens
of small round brilliant diamonds surrounded by a rounded bow motif mounting
supplement with dozens of Emerald cut diamonds embedded. This is one of the
nicer Carat Clusters we have acquired in the past few months, and the strength
of its 10 Karat Gold constitution is partly responsible for its fine condition.

Antique Ladies ¼ carat Diamond Cluster 14K

This vintage
ladies cluster, with 4 diamonds arranged at the poles around a .15 carat mine
cut diamond, is impressive and unusual. We estimate it was manufactured before
World War I. It is well worn, but still in Very Good to Excellent condition.
The white gold plating is worn through in some areas, but blends very well with
the 14 karat yellow gold base. It’s a ring size 4-3/4, and the shank is still

Antique Ladies 2 Ct Cluster Fine White

This is by far the finest piece of antique jewelry to come through our store in the last 40 years. We estimate this antique mounting was manufactured in the 1920s, and even perhaps before that. It exudes Victorian opulence without being extravagant. The center stone gauges at least .40 carats, with two .30s on its sides. The interweaving support patterns that surround the center stones incorporate 27 stones in a heavy, balanced yet asymmetrical, White gold mounting. All the stones are flush mounted and well tipped. The three center stones have their own individual encasements. The size 5-3/4 shank is strong and solid, and shows no signs of ever having been resized or repaired. This is a most excellent piece of vintage jewelry, and is the style of the early 20th century period even if we are wrong about its manufacture date. This is among the finer rings that
we have come across in the past several years. There are 3 tiers of diamonds
ascending in a Marquis shaped pattern with 3 really nice top stones. The
diamonds have excellent clarity despite bits of carbon visible at 10x
magnification. They’re all whole, no cracked diamonds, and the white gold prong
tips are intact and strong. Ring size is a 10, and since most women wear much
smaller rings; and since the shank is full and strong, it will be very little

The gold and diamonds are real.
Center stone is an imitation sapphire, very authentic looking, that gauges
approximately 2 carats and is surrounded by small diamonds. This is a very
dressy piece, very elegant and not at all gaudy. This piece is brand new, one
that we bought among several at a jewelry store liquidation several years ago.
Jewelry stores are selling similar items, and when you figure out what the
price is by the gram, it’s usually around $30 - $35 per gram. While the gold

Ladies 9 Dia Fancy Solitaire Style Engag.

This ladies’ Diamond Engagement ring is fancy enough to double for a dinner ring, should the parties become dis-engaged. Actually, that’s what happened in this one’s case. It’s a size 7, and the shank is excellent and strong. There is no visible evidence of its having been sized. The shank develops and sweeps toward the top into a floral motif pattern where 2 diamonds are set deep in a well-tipped hard white gold area that mates symmetrically with the other side. The strength of the flourish is accentuated by two more diamonds, one on each size, mounted in sturdy leaf offsets. The setting is a Marquis shaped 6-prong white gold, very well constructed, and the ring culminates in a vertical row of 3 diamonds that gauge .02 carats each. The side stones gauge at .01 each, making for a total diamond weight of .15 Carats by our gauge. Metric weight of the ring is 3.6 grams of solid 10 Karat gold. On a $700 gold and diamond market, the gold melt value would be $33.00 and the diamond value $105, of course. We have little interest in gaining expertise in semi-precious stones like

the Ohaus Scale at only 1.0 grams, this solid 10 Karat Gold ladies’ ring is a
size 6-3/4. Even though scrutiny reveals a sizing mark inside, the shank is
thick enough to give years of service and pleasure. Near its top, the ring
shank separates into double sections that support a very pretty cast rose

Let us first be clear that we have
no idea whether the sapphires are real. Since we’re pawnbrokers, we don’t pay
much attention to colored stones. The 3 small diamonds, however, and more
important for us, the 10 Karat Gold, is quite genuine. This is a very pretty,
modern ring. The blue stone – and they very well might be sapphires – are all
Marquis cut and well mounted. They gauge a total of between a half and
three-quarters of a carat. The diamonds are quite small, but they are genuine
cut stones, probably no more than .02 carats apiece. Total metric weight of the
ring is 1.95 grams. Rings like this normally sell in jewelry stores for $100

Ladies 14K ½ Ct Opal Modern Mounting Sz 5 ½

The opal gauges over a half-carat. It is admittedly
not as brilliant as when it was first manufactured – as opals are wont to be.
We estimate it dates from the early 1990s or late 1980s. The Opal, however, has
considerable Fire left to it; it dances with hues of green and pink even in
fluorescent light it was photographed in. The dance intensifies considerably in
natural light. Mounting is a size 5 ½, and the shank is very sturdy with only a
hint of thinning at its bottom apex. All 4 prongs are excellent, full and
strong; and there’s even a couple of .01 diamonds gracing the sides. Total
metric weight is 2.6 grams. If a person figured the entire weight as 14 Karat,
metal value on a $700 Gold market would be $34.00. Of course, that would be
figuring the stone itself, probably no more than .5 grams, as having gold
content which it definitely does not have. We’re offering it for only a modest

This Dinner ring exudes elegance
without ostentation. Its bow design has symmetrical, intricate looped accents
with raised edges off the shank, cast in solid 10 Karat Gold with white gold
tips. Total Carat weight is a shade over ½ Carat by our estimate, and the
manufacturer’s label reads Bogo inside the shank. Ring size is 8, and the shank
is quite full. Its only detractions are five or six inconspicuous scuffs on the

This is, to the untrained eye, a
tasteful and expensive piece of jewelry. All the stones, however, are cubic zirconias
– not real diamonds. Gem weight would approach 1 Carat if they were genuine.

This ring size 6 ¾ Ladies’
antique Victorian pattern dinner ring consists of 3.4 grams of 14 Karat Gold.
The centerpiece contains 7 small diamonds that gauge around .015 carats apiece.
This ring was probably sold as a ¼ Carat cluster. The diamonds, however, are not
as significant as the styling and desireability of the classic Victorian
styling. This ring is not unique, but is one of a classic pattern that one does
not often see. The shank is quite full and sturdy, and appears to have been

Ladies 10 K YG Cobra
Ring 2 Dias, 2 Sapphires Exc
This unusual ring comes from
craftsmen in Mexico. It is of excellent quality, well-constructed and striking
but tasteful and modest at the same time. The Cobra’s hooded head is embedded
with a diamond-shaped pattern of 2 sapphires and 2 diamonds, each only about
.01 Carats. Metric weight of the ring is 2.3 grams of 10 Karat Gold, and ring
size is a very healthy 8 ½. The shank is full and thick, and the exclusive

Ladies Tanzanite 10 Karat Gold w/ Diamonds Exc Cond
We claim no
expertise in semi-precious stones, nor are we particularly interested in
acquiring such knowledge. This December birthstone ring’s center stone may or
may not be Tanzanite. The 10 Karat Gold and 2 side Diamonds, however, are
authentic. This rings is in Excellent Condition, and weighs in at 2.0 grams
metric weight, solid 10 Karat Gold mounting. The diamonds appear to be .01
Carat apiece, no more than .02 Carats total diamond weight. The ring size is 6
¾, and while the lower shank exhibits slight wear, it is sturdy and
serviceable. It does not appear to have ever been sized. We’re offering this

Ladies Ruby/Dia
Dinner Ring 1 Ct + Gem Wt 10 Karat
We estimate that this ladies’
ring is of recent manufacture, made in the last 10 years or so; the styling, however,
is strongly reminiscent of the 1940s or 1950s. The stones consist of 7
Marquis-cut rubies symmetrically accenting the half Carat center ruby. Then
there are symmetrical twin tiers of diamonds, a total of 8 round brilliant .01
Carats on the outer edge, and 8 baguette or emerald cut diamonds in the center
tier of the ring, well embedded. Total metric weight of the entire mounting is
3.9 grams, 10 Karat Gold, and the ring size is 7. While there is some slight
flattening to the center portions of the lower shank, the shank is quite full
and very sturdy, and the ring does not appear to have ever been sized. The
rubies are a subdued candy color, with veins visible under 5x magnification.
Rings of this size and weight sell for $200 to $300 in our area; we’re offering

Tipping the scales at 2.5 grams,
this pretty ladies’ ring had 13 diamonds whose weight is no more that .005
Carat apiece, total diamond weight of about .07 Carat. Since the ring size is 6
½, the slightly flattened place on the shank bottom is likely a resize. The
shank is full, the sizing expertly performed, and this very pretty, modest

By Irish Tanzanite, we simply
wish, with all good humor, to convey the exciting refractive effect of this
ring’s center stone. It is a cut stone with medium edge, 2- to 3-Carat size,
and has as pretty a combination of Violet and Green a person will ever see. We
have no idea whether the center stone is actually Tanzanite, since we have no
expertise on semi-precious stones. We doubt the photo will do it justice. Total
