NRA Dealer of the Year 1993, 1995, 1997

Thanks for visiting our website. Please also, whenever you’re near Memphis or Tupelo, come on by and visit us in person. One exciting thing about Henderson is our good cooks. For the past few years, we’ve maintained our African-American and Hillbilly culinary expertise, and we’ve picked up some splendid Mexican and Chinese Cooks to boot. Our favorite fast food place in town here is an Alabama franchise, Jack’s, that has the best sausage anywhere. We’re happy to announce, too, that our good friends from the Chevrolet Dealership here in town are opening a fitness center, right next door to us on Front Street, so we can all work off all those calories and saturated fats.

More to the subject, thanks for visiting our Extra Barrels page. Format is: Stock Number, Product Name, Photo, and Description. We intend to take the best photos possible, and to be meticulous and forthright in our descriptions, enough so that people know exactly what they’re buying, even if they can’t see the photos. We always point out any detracting features to our items. While we have always offered a return privilege, clear understanding on the front end helps avoid that. Buyers please remind us – we’re a little scatterbrained – of your e-mail addresses so that we can send you the Delivery Confirmation or Tracking Numbers on purchases. We do not send junk e-mails, since we have no time to read them ourselves.

Barrels are not our forte. They have value, but we don’t really look for them; we just have what the Lord wants us to have. We have a couple senior colleagues, however, in this area, who do have a good supply of shotgun barrels. Give them a call if you’ve got some free minutes:

  1. Mr. Walter McClanahan, W. H. McGuns, Humboldt, TN  731-784-5742
  2. Mr. Thad Scott, Thad Scott Fine Guns, Indianola, MS

We have 5 Categories on this page: 1. Browning, 2. Ithaca, 3. Remington, 4. Winchester, 5. Miscellaneous Barrels (non-Remington or Winchester), and 6. Choke Tubes and Wrenches.

1. Browning – always, short supply

B001

Bbl: Browning FN Belgian A-5 Lt 12 28 F VR 2 ¾ In. VG Reblue

If this barrel’s serial number is similar to R. L. Wilson’s Serialization, it matches the Auto Five Light 12 run of 1956 from the FN Factory in Belgium. Length is 28 inches, original Ventilated Rib, 2 ¾ inch chamber, with a very tight muzzle constriction of .678. Since our photographer cleaned the barrel, he can attest the pressure for the final 4-5 inches with a single patch and tight-fitting 12 gauge jag. This barrel has, at some point in its career, had a light application of cold blue. Even though it is only visible upon close scrutiny, there is some wavy color mixture on the surface for about 4 inches near the muzzle. There is one small lightly pitted place on the lower left side of the surface near the muzzle, as the photos show. On the lower right-hand side of the barrel, between the 7th and 8th posts from the muzzle, there is a lightly and sparcely pitted area of the surface. The rib and barrel lug are not affected by this mal-coloration, but there is some evidence of brownish-blue patina over the lettering on either side of the rear part of the barrel. The unblued rear outside surface of the barrel in the back has about 20 percent dark discoloration, and there is some very light etchy external pitting beside the extractor slot. The bore and chamber are a different story. Their only detraction visible by our inspection is very slight, barely visible etchy appearance at places just forward of the forcing cone. The chamber and the remainder of the bore are clean, smooth, and flawless. This is a very attractive barrel, and it came to us with an Excellent Condition Auto Five Light 12 from one of our advanced Senior Citizens from McNairy County, Tennessee. It is eminently serviceable, collectable, and quite attractive. We’re offering it           for only             $ 249.95

  1. Ithaca Barrels:

B03

Barrel: Ithaca Auto mod 300 Std ONLY 12 ga 2 ¾ 28 Full

This barrel will fit the SKB/Ithaca Model 300 Standard Auto, the ugly one with the Browning-like receiver. It will not fit an Ithaca XL 300. Thanks to our friend Richard who has researched these, and writes as follows:

you have a Type 1, recoil operated barrel for 300 or 900 serial numbered below 100,000.  It WILL fit a Model 900, but only if the number is below 100,000.  Type 2 barrels/firearms, unlike yours, fit  numbers above 100,000, have a dual extractor, and there is a slot in the ejector slot for same.

So, this one will only fit an SKB Ithaca Model 300 Auto 12 ga Standard, and it appears to be a recoil, not a gas, operated barrel because we detect no gas port anywhere. This barrel is in Excellent Condition inside and out, 95 percent or so; and we doubt it has ever been fired. Its only detractions are a couple of tiny scratches on top of the chamber area’s exterior, just forward of the white, on the blue. Marking on left side of barrel reads:

                        Model 300 – 12 Ga – 2 ¾ Chamber – Proof Tested

Ithaca Gun Co., Inc., Ithaca, N.Y. Made in Japan – Roto Forged

The shotguns that these barrels fit were excellent quality shotguns, but only made briefly during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Own this one                 for only             $ 99.95

  1. Remington Barrels:

B02

Barrel: Remington 870 LW 20 ga 26 IC Pl NIB

Here is a Remington Barrel we tried to buy last year, and finally got recently. It is brand new in its original box, correct product code, Remington #6300. This is a Remington 20 gauge barrel for the 870 LW that was only manufactured from 1976 until 1983. This one’s date code is a weak strike, but P D, as best as we can read it, means June 1983, the last year of production for the series. This barrel will not fit an 870 Express. It will not fit a standard weight 870, the older models. It will not fit an LT-870 Lightweight. It will not fit a wide handle Stilson Wrench, either. It will only fit shotguns marked 870 LW, and their date codes should read somewhere in the production years range we mentioned above.  This one is 26 inches long, 2 ¾ inch chamber, with a .608 constriction Improved Cylinder Choke. It is bright blue, in sharp distinction to the current ugly crop of 870 Expresses and their mates. Replacement price on bright blue 870 barrels is currently well over $200 apiece in our area. We’re offering this one, however,   for only             $ 99.95

B05 – 08

Remington 11-87 R/C Skeet NIB 2 Tubes & Wrench

Photo shows two of the half-dozen some odd barrels we were able to obtain at a really good price. The Remington 1100 has long been the most pleasant-shooting shotgun not only in the field, but also and especially on the trap and skeet range. There is no reason for its direct descendant, the 11-87, to surrender that distinction. One of these fine barrels will capitalize on that legacy. This lot consists of one of three identical brand new in the box Remington 12 gauge shotgun barrels for the 11-87, Premier Grade bright blue, complete with a total of two Rem-Choke tubes, wrench, forend guard and instruction manual. The tubes are Remington Skeet and Improved Skeet. The improved skeet tube we measured had a constriction of .719 inches, and the skeet tube measured .724. This barrel is a conventional two-gas-port barrel for any 11-87 shotgun. It has a 2 ¾ inch chamber, and will not handle magnum shells, but will certainly work on magnum receivers for light-duty, light-recoil work. Barrel length is 26 inches, Vent Rib, Rem-choke with ivory front bead and brass middle bead. Most of the batch were manufactured in 2002, with a W year date code. These are NOT light contour barrels. These still have factory grease coating, and have never been installed on a shotgun. Remington Factory Code is 24624. Replacement Price on this barrel in our area is upwards of $300.00. Own one at an excellent value price        of only              $ 129.95

3. Winchester

            - No Winchester barrels at present.

4. Misc / Non-Remington or Winchester:

B031

Smith & Wesson 1000 Auto Barrel 12 ga 30 Full Vent Blem

The Blem on this barrel is a conspicuous swell just forward of the 5th rib post and barrel lug. The swell goes all the way around except for the rib, and the rib appears tight and intact. The barrel is not entirely straight any more, either: it bends downward perhaps 3-5 degrees forward of the bulge. This is, of course, an Extra Barrel for the Smith & Wesson Model 1000 gas-operated Shotgun manufactured from the 1960s to early 1990s by Howa in Japan. It is 30 inches long, Ventilated Rib, Full Choke – a very tight .680 constriction. Finish is about 75 percent, with some blue weakness and spotty brown toning affecting about 30 percent of the barrel’s exterior surface. We strongly recommend that a person get 2 opinions from competent gunsmiths as to the advisability of using this barrel. We are neither competent nor gunsmiths. We’re offering this barrel, however,           for only             $ 15.00

B035

Barrel for S&W Pencil 4 inch Model 10 .38 Special Very Good 1960s

This barrel is in Very Good Condition, and the bore appears excellent. It most likely came from a PPC construction job, but it has the older style, small-font lettering on its right side. We rate it as about 70 percent finishwise, but the finish wear is only from an unlined holster, no pitting or anything of the sort. Own this fine old Smith & Wesson barrel              for only      $ 29.95
